At first glance, this Lightning Ridge Australian crystal opal appears deep and still, its surface dark and quiet. But as it meets the light, it transforms. Color ignites within the stone, flashing and shifting like fire, alive with movement, like a hidden world suddenly revealed.
This movement reflects the vision in Ezekiel 1, where the living creatures move “back and forth like flashes of lightning,” radiant, alive, and filled with the fire of God’s presence. There is nothing stagnant in that vision, everything is responsive, alive, and illuminated by Him.
The opal captures that same mystery. What seems still begins to flicker and move with light, flashes appearing and disappearing in an instant. It becomes a reflection of our own lives, that apart from Him things can feel dim or undefined, but in His presence we come alive, filled with light, movement, and purpose.
Set in solid 14k yellow gold, the opal is held in place by asymmetrical prongs that feel organic and unrefined, as though formed over time rather than manufactured. The setting allows the stone to remain the focus, honoring its natural fire and movement.
This piece is entirely one of a kind. The opal’s pattern, fire, and formation can never be replicated, making it as unique as the story it carries.
